Frequently Asked Questions

Q: How much do you charge?
A: A competitive rate based on the date, time, duration and location of your event.
I don’t operate a fixed fee or an hourly rate. Prices start from as little as £150.

Q: What kind of music do you play?
A: The simple answer to this is: whatever you want me to play. I am experienced enough to know what music is and is not appropriate for your function. I have specialist knowledge of many different areas: Chart, Dance, R&B, Disco, Pop, 70s, 80s and 90s nights. I also have a large database of House, Electro House and Commercial Dance music.

Q: Do you take requests?
A: Yes, I will provide you with a request sheet that you can complete before your function where you can state any specific requests, all I ask is that these are kept to a minimum of 25 tracks. Also throughout the evening I will take requests from you and your guests.

Q: Do you confirm in writing?
A: Yes, I always issue a booking form which is to be completed and returned to me with a booking fee of £35, (remaining balance to be paid within the 14 day period prior to the event). A signed copy of the form will then be sent out for you to keep.

Q: How long do you need to set up and how much space do you require?
A: Halo Entertainment will normally be at the venue approximately one and a half hours before the event is due to start and an area approx. 4m x 2m is ideal. For larger functions more time (and space) may be required.

Q: What will the DJ wear?
A: My dress code is smart casual; however, shirt & tie or black tie will be worn upon request.

Q: What about Health & Safety – is your equipment tested?
A: Health and safety is extremely important to me, all of Halo Entertainments equipment is Portable Appliance (PAT) tested annually in accordance with the Health & Safety Executive, Electricity at Work Act 1989. A copy of my current test certificate is available on request. Halo Entertainment also has £2 Million Public Liability Insurance.

Q: Can I meet with the DJ before the function?
A: Yes, if you are interested in my services I will gladly arrange for a time to meet at your convenience to discuss your party with you. This enables me to make sure things run as smoothly as possible at your event and that I get it right. A telephone call and email will also be made 1-2 weeks prior to your event to check details and to see if there are any changes or problems.

Q. I'd like you to go on a bit longer than we booked you for... what do we have to do?
A. So long as the venue operators don't mind and will allow it, then this is not a problem and will be charged at £15 per hour (£25 after Midnight) or £10 part hour basis.

Q: Why should I choose you over the other DJ's?

A: My number one source for bookings is word-of-mouth referrals. It is the old customer Service cliché. If you receive good service, you'll tell one or two people, if you receive bad service, you'll tell 10 or more! It is a sad fact that most people have had a bad experience of an unreliable DJ or a Disco that played a poor selection of music.

I am constantly aware of this when performing.

I want your night to be memorable for the right reasons, and for you to tell as many people as possible how well I have served you. My entire business, from sound, lighting, cost, and most importantly music, is all geared to ensure I please all of my customers, every single time.
